About

Clara Stanford grew up in the Bay Area of California and began dancing at the age of four. Until graduating high school she intensely studied ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, and hip hop at her local dance studio, and performed extensively in concerts, competitions, and the Nutcracker. At this studio she was the recipient of the Fife Memorial Scholarship, which is an acknowledgement of her dedication to dance and positive attitude in the rehearsal room. She graduated with her BFA in contemporary dance from Boston Conservatory at Berklee in 2020, under the directorship of Tommy Neblett. At Boston Conservatory, Clara expanded her studies in modern and contemporary dance to include Horton, Limon, Release Technique, and Counter Technique with Jim Viera, Kurt Douglas, Alissa Cardone, and Joy Davis. She also had the amazing opportunity to work with choreographers such as Jennifer Archibald and Zoe Scofield. In 2020, Clara moved to London to attend Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance's MA in Dance Performance program and be a member of their 2020-21 Transitions Dance Company. Through this amazing experience Clara participated in creation processes with Dog Kennel Hill Project, Didy Veldman, and Rahel Vonmoos, and performed their works on tour throughout the UK in 2021. After successfully completing her Masters and graduating with distinction in December 2021, Clara will continue to be based in London, UK. Clara has spent her summers furthering her dance training at such places as Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance, Axis Connect, and abroad at b12 in Germany and Dance Italia in Italy.
